Ori Maller, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

    Biography

Ori earned his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at Stony Brook University. He then completed his doctorate in Cancer Biology at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus under the mentorship of Dr. Pepper Schedin. Ori's dissertation focused on extracellular matrix (ECM) biology, mammary gland development, and breast cancer. Specifically, he examined the composition and functions of mammary ECMs from quiescent rat mammary glands as a model for tumor-suppressive ECM and their ability to impede mammary tumor growth and invasion. Ori joined the Weaver lab in 2012 and is currently studying the interplay between mechanotransduction and protumor immunity in breast cancer.
