Postdoctoral Fellow

    Biography

Dhruv Thakar, PhD obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from University of Delhi, Delhi. He then obtained M.Tech in Nanoscience and Nanotechnology from University of Delhi and Joseph Fourier University, Grenoble, France as an exchange program between the two universities during which he developed redox-driven sensors for selective capture and release of tumor cells. He then obtained his PhD from University of Grenoble Alpes, Grenoble in 2015 under the supervision of Dr. Ralf Richter and Dr. Liliane Coche-Guerente during which he developed biomimetic surfaces to interrogate the role of glycosaminoglycans in chemokine-mediated cell guidance. Dhruv joined the Weaver lab in January 2016 and is interested in   understanding how the spatio-mechanical features of the tumor microenvironment modulate RTK signaling and modifies inhibitor resistance.
